Firewalls

An Internet firewall helps protect a computer network or a single machine from hackers. Implemented in either software (as with Windows XP) or Hardware (as in the NAT Router below), or a combination of both, it is becoming increasingly more indispensable to protect your PC(s) from unauthorized outside access or compromise. While there are still many other considerations for completely securing your PC, one of the best starting points is the hardware based firewall router illustrated below.
